Patrilineal line research

What is a patrilineal line?

A patrilineal line is a record of a person's ancestors in the direct male line. When making a patrilineal series, we go back in time to the oldest known ancestor, which is the progenitor. We include only consecutive male ancestors of a person in the series: the father, his father, and so on.
Primary data such as: birth-, marriage-, and death dates as well as the details of the partner of the ancestor(s) are also included in the patrilineal line.

In a genealogical series, successive generations are indicated by Roman numerals (I, II, III). The progenitor is given the number I, his son II, his grandson III and so on.
